Julie Bernstein is an East Bay based artist whose background includes painting, drawing and the fabric arts of weaving and batik. Her focus for the last several years has been watercolor, in which she incorporates her love of color and line. Medium: Windsor and Newton Artist's Watercolors with watercolor pencil and crayon as additional mediums. Paper: Arches 140 pound, cold pressed, watercolor paper, unless otherwise noted. She will be showing her work this year at the East Bay Open Studios, put on by Oakland's ProArts Gallery, an artist-based organization founded in 1974. The exhibition is the biggest regional event of its kind. The Open Studios exhibition this year takes place June 7, 8 2008 and June 14, 15 2008 from 11am to 6pm at the Sawtooth Building 2547 8th St. Studio #13C Bay 1, Berkeley Ca.
