Julie Bernstein is an East Bay based artist whose background includes painting, drawing and the fabric arts of weaving and batik. Her focus for the last several years has been watercolor, in which she incorporates her love of color and line. She will be showing her work this year at the Uptown Studios, put on by Oakland's ProArts Gallery, an artist-based organization founded in 1974. The exhibition is the biggest regional event of its kind.
